A Great Day of Golf, a Lasting Difference

6 October 2026

Blue Skies Hospitals Fund is delighted to announce that the Blue Skies Charity Golf Day was a tremendous success, helping to raise vital funds to enhance care for patients, families and staff across Blackpool Teaching Hospitals.

Held at the prestigious Royal Lytham & St Annes Golf Club, the event brought together local businesses, supporters and golf enthusiasts for a fantastic day of sport, networking and fundraising.

Teams began arriving from 9am to register and enjoy breakfast barms before making their way to the first tee. From 10am onwards, teams had the opportunity to play one of the most iconic golf courses in the world, enjoying a memorable day on the championship links course.

Following an afternoon on the fairways, players returned to the famous clubhouse where they freshened up before gathering for a superb two-course gourmet meal.

The evening celebrations were expertly compered by Ged Mills and featured an exciting raffle and auction, helping to raise vital funds for Blue Skies. The evening concluded with a heartfelt and emotional speech from Blue Skies Head of Charity, Kila Redfearn, who thanked everyone for their incredible support.

Congratulations go to Evolved Energy 2, who were crowned winners of the competition, closely followed by Notarianni Ices in second place.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to our event sponsors whose support helped make the day possible. Thank you to Everywhen for sponsoring the £10,000 Hole-in-One Prize, Mediaprint for supporting the event’s marketing materials, and Changeology for sponsoring the wine served during the evening meal.

A special thank you also goes to our fantastic volunteers, whose hard work ensured the day ran smoothly, and to Royal Lytham & St Annes Golf Club for welcoming us and helping to create such a memorable experience for everyone involved.

The funds raised through the event will help Blue Skies continue funding projects, equipment and enhancements that go above and beyond standard NHS provision, making a real difference to patients and families across Blackpool Teaching Hospitals.

Thank you to everyone who played, sponsored, donated, volunteered and supported the event. Your generosity and enthusiasm helped make the first Blue Skies Charity Golf Day a fantastic success.
